review 1: It's been a while since I've read Invincible regularly, so getting back into this volume, which includes the 100th issue, took a bit. The story is moving quickly, and does not let up for much of the volume. Major action beats, character deaths, character changes, all come and go at a pace that few comics can match. There's a page early on that is basically the author apologizing for the series going dark for a while, which was interesting to see worked into the story. But the key is that by the end of the volume, the major characters are back into what is mostly the status quo, a little wiser, and with more opportunities going forward.
review 2: Another awesome installment. It absolutely lives up to its name and had some of the best "holy sh*t" moments that I
... more've seen in awhile. It was just page after page of awesomeness and intense action. It was absolutely one of the most exciting volumes I have ever read. I'm also glad that some of the pacing issues seem to have been resolved. It was still a bit strange that it seemed like one battle was going on alongside weeks of work, but it's a bit ambiguous. Still, awesome action. The only reason I took a star away was some of the writing. On the one hand, I loved the satirical page early on that set the tone for the book. On the other hand, some of the character stuff was convenient and inconsistent, especially between Invincible and Dinosaurus. It's noticeable, but not anything that ruined the book. Just not at the peak of his game. The art was top notch, though. You could tell this book was a big deal (includes the 100th issue), and the sketch section includes even more goodness than usual. This volume had some extra nostalgia for me, though. Issue 102 was the first issue of Invincible that I ever picked up. I remember seeing the violence and gore and being completely turned off by it, but my friend convinced me to pick up the first trade and I've been hooked ever since. Now as I hit issue 102 again, the story behind the violence makes it all the more awesome and I didn't even bat an eye. It rocks. Just read it already. less

Is the plot about Atom Eve cheating on Mark ever going to come into play?

The book takes some dark turns in this volume, but it's all pretty great.
