review 1: This collection of short graphic stories showcases Rutu Modan's talent as a storyteller, artist, and cultural historian. Where other collections of early works from other graphic novelists tend to disappoint, Jamilti delivers a forceful punch of skilled artistry. A raw glimpse into daily life in Israel, where suicide bombings are commonplace and barely newsworthy. She explores relationships and the quirks of human nature. Several different graphic techniques are used, and dialogue is used sparingly to enhance the graphics. Hoping to see more from this artist - her voice is strong and important.
