review 1: Loved it! I am so addicted to this series. Chess and Terrible are both so messed up.... yet so perfect for each other. I really liked Blue, and I loved Chess's interaction with elder Griffin in this one too. Chess is definitely opening herself up to other people. It is heart wrenching how scary it is for her, how something as simple as a hug or someone wanting to talk to her personally, just freaks her out... I am very curious to see how things are going to change with Lex now... And I am looking forward to more of Chess and Terrible, I know it will not be smooth sailing, but I know it will be great.
review 2: Coming into the downside with chess and terrible is always compelling. always feeling like you want to take poor chess under your wing and take care... more of her is tough. i almost had high hopes for her at one stage. her relationship with terrible has it's highs and lows again and at times i want to slap them both. it's amazing how this woman functions the way that she does and there are some things in this book that sets the scene for some major changes in the next book! less
