review 1: Despite the many POVs we get, I still don't feel like any of the characters are really fleshed out...except for maybe Verchiel. Aaron and Lucifer are so boringly lawful good. Lucifer was especially disappointing because he basically turns out to like Christ reborn, with his "containment of hell" punishment that rings quite familiar to messiah/martyr material. Feeling less enthusiastic about the rest of the series.
review 2: I like the series and the characters, and was glad to have the resolution, but I am still having some issues with their portrayal of Lucifer. Also, Aaron seems highly unqualified to be forgiving people. Sometimes they focus on him as an agent of forgiveness, but at others, it seems he is doing the forgiving, which he has no authority to do
... more. Anyway, if I overlook the weird religion/mythology and just focus on the characters and the story, it is enjoyable. less
