review 1: Set in Scotland a young archaeologist finds a skull and some bones and a mystery begins in a small village. The first death appears to be a mistake when someone shoots an elderly lady while he is hunting rabbits. Twists and turns with the characters and then another death at first ruled as a suicide of the young girl who found the bones and coins. Keeps you guessing to the end of the book on who did this.
review 2: This is the third book in the Shetland series with detective Jimmy Perez and his slightly slow side kick Sandy Wilson. Most of the story takes place on the island of Whalsay where an archaeological dig is taking place. An elderly woman is shot in what appears to be an accident, and Jimmy and Sandy come to investigate. I like this series because
... more of the wonderful picture of life on the islands and of the islands themselves. The characters are great and the plots satisfying. Recommended especially for readers of British crime. less
