review 1: Inspector Jimmy Perez is back in Dead Water, the Fifth Shetland Mystery, by Ann Cleeves. Willow Reeves, a new SIO, is called in from Inverness to investigate the murder of a journalist. Jimmy Perez is pulled into the murder investigation by Sandy Wilson, his co-worker, and Rhona Laing, the island's Fiscal. I highly recommend this series with the reservation to read the series in order for full enjoyment.
review 2: A nice written British murder mystery reminiscent of previous English and Scottish authors. A gentle read fun for quiet evenings where one has the pleasure to attempting to so with the characters and try to solve a double murder. This is written in the British language which adds to the fun. A constable detective is in the stages of recovering f
... morerom the death of his fiancee and has isolated himself from most contact. When contacted to help in this mystery he eases himself into the investigation and it becomes a cure for him. In the process he is relegated to the position of a investigator to assist working with others who had previously worked for him, the lead investigator is a lady officer from a larger city some distance away. There are many leads and multiple characters in this mystery all with the opportunity and all with alibis. Just a fun and entertaining mystery that is hard to put down. less
