review 1: This is a very interesting take on the whole story of Isolde and Trystan - I love how the author meshed in the legends of King Author also. Very well done and I could barely put this book down. I'm thankful that the library had all the trilogy when I discovered this series. I'm looking forward to seeing what will be happening in the second book - though I don't think I will be okay with the third book because of what I've read of Trystan and Isolde their love wasn't a happily ever after... We'll see what this author does with this story.
review 2: Honestly, this deserved a 3.5 star rating, not a 4, but it's good enough to earn a round-up. This is very similar territory to some of Rosalind Miles' work, she too has a Trystan/lsolde trilogy, but this has les
... mores magic and militant feminism. lts also less good. Not by much, though. l'm a sucker for Arthurian tales, but not hardcore into the older lore, so this is a good modern alternative to the centuries old stuff. Written much more in our current vernacular and sensibilities than what traditionalists might like, but l'd still recommend it. less
