What's with this stupid rule that every superhero has to have dead relatives to make them interesting? If it had been done for a plot relevant reason, I would have tolerated it, but this just feels like Bendis just pulled out the angsty comic checklist. It's okay to try something different once in a while, guys.
review 2: Brian Michael Bendis, Sara Pichelli, and David Marquez continue to fire on all cylinders as Miles Morales battles his first proper Spider-Man villain as Venom returns to menace his life... more. This brings Miles' origin full circle, and manages to rope back in some other supporting cast members too. None of the decompression issues that plagued the previous volumes of USM are present here, and everything is in place to create an absolutely excellent comic book. The artwork alone is worth the price of admission, but the story is top notch as well. less
