review 1: The fifth book in the series featuring Bailey Ruth Raeburn of Heaven's Department of Good Intentions. Which is actually a very good department for her to work for, in that Bailey Ruth ALWAYS starts out with good intentions. What usually follows, however, involves breaking all of the precepts that the Department holds dear. This time the head of the department, Wiggins, is worried about an old friend back in Adelaide, Oklahoma. But she's not exactly "living" there, since she's been dead for many a year but refuses to come home to heaven.
review 2: “Ghost wanted” is the latest mystery in the series about Bailey Ruth, a heavenly emissary sent to her old home town of Adelaide, Oklahoma, to solve a series of crimes including a murder in the prestigious college l... moreibrary. What intrigues me about this series is the speculation about the afterlife and the details of how “life” is lived there while watchful eyes protect those in need on earth. The protagonist, Bailey Ruth, however well intended, is frivolous and less interesting to me. In this novel, however, her “boss,” Wiggins, someone we have met in previous novels, kind but stern, adhering to the “Heavenly Precepts,” is personally connected to one of the characters, and the reader learns a great deal more about him and his past. less
