review 1: So bloody good! I love Kara's voice, and character! She is so strong in the face of so much crap! Mzatal is a badass Demon Lord who actually gives a crap, and the whole demon realm is bloody brilliant! This whole book is such a step beyond the first four books, and its not even funny how great it is! I couldn't put it down! Best book of 2013... Well, so far anyway... But still it is pretty freaking great. Plus, with the little Firefly/Whedon geek references she throws into her books, Diana Rowland is my new favourite.
review 2: I've loved all first four books and this one did not disappoint at all. The suspense, deceit and heartbreak in this novel was off the charts. Wow! well worth the wait. I was speechless at times and talking to myself (more like gasping an... mored saying "what the hell is he doing....ugh....") during other times as every page kept me interested wondering what's going to happen next, made me laugh, want to hit someone or cry. When a book can bring that much emotion from me, its an amazingly intoxicating work of art. less
