review 1: Market is conversation and social media are platforms for them. This changes the way of how to face these tools. There are several conversations happening right now and if you are an expert on the subject within the market in which you are inserted you can engage in these conversations, monitoring them, answering them, contributing with your knowledge. The book teaches you how to use social media as marketing tools to drive you (by thinking of yourself as a brand) and your business.Interesting quotes:"Everyone needs to start thinking of themselves as a brand.""(...) skills are cheap, passion is priceless.""Your latest tweet and comment on Facebook and most recent blog post? That's your résumé now.""(...) where people - consumers - go, money follows (...)""No matter how b... moreig you get, every e-mail, every customer, every friend, every single person with whom you come into contact matters and deserves respect and attention."
review 2: "Crush it!..." is a book by Gary Vaynerchuk - a social media veteran and a self-proclaimed wine expert. The book is titled "Why NOW Is The Time To Cash In On Your Passion" and I thought it would be a time-tested lesson on working towards realizing our dreams. It was...well almost. People might say that the book is a lame lesson encouraging people to make it big on social media. Some people don't like it for that. I think it's all about Gary himself. The book is probably the loudest, most in-your-face description of the author and his spirit. For the first one hour, I was disappointed that he thought the path towards success is somehow directed by one's social media presence (he gives Oprah as an example). Gary is a salesman who uses social media to sell himself. He is very good at it. He isn't good at anything else. He may be good at vine criticism, but he admits he "doesn't want to go mainstream". Most people, including me, would find it nauseating and would be put off. But, as I powered through, I realized I liked his passion towards mindless achievements (aimed at making money). He admits his personality might turn off people. He is well aware of what people think of him. I also think it is because of those very reasons that he is successful in the industry of celebrity and social media. I was motivated by puppy-dog like spirit to be fully and wholly committed to his goals no matter how much people belittle or ridicule him. The more passionate he is, the more followers he gets and the more noise from critics he can ignore. Learning advanced engineering, artificial intelligence and starting a company are probably some of my goals. Social media has little to do with it. But I wish I was as committed and passionate as Gary is. Although, getting followers on Twitter is probably a lot more easier than understanding NP-complete problems all day. less

By now everything said in the book is taken for granted, maybe by the time was a good advice.
