review 1: When Princess Poppy of Westfalian comes to stay at Seadown house, she meets Prince Christian, a Dane prince who is very handsome. But when the servant girl Ellen, formerly known as Eleanora, an Earl's daughter, sets her cap on Prince Christian, he is entranced by her beauty. The Corley provides Ellen, who goes by the name of Lady Ella at balls, with more elaborate versions of other peoples gowns and accessories. Ellen soon discovers that having liquid glass poured on her feet isn't safe. Her feet turn to sparkling dance and she cannot attend the ball at which Prince Christian is to propose to her.
review 2: So this is the second in the "Princess" trilogy by George and is quite different from the first in several ways. This book has a much clearer main characte
... morer in Poppy, whereas Rose in the first book was more one of twelve main characters. In this story, the reader really gets to know the small circle of close friends that Poppy makes and can sincerely root for their success in defeating the evil "godmother," which is a really cool twist to the Cinderella story. less
