review 1: Not a huge fan of serial novels, I didn't realize I had picked up the mother of serial novels. Something like 37 "Prey" novels, so I wasn't too enthusiastic about this book. But I was wrong. The characters were strong and somewhat independent of previous novels, but there clearly were relationships there that were deep and wide. And I have since realized that some of the minor characters in this book were the major characters in other books. A bit gory but not really unexpected.
