review 1: Wow! If I had one word to write a review that would be it! After just finishing a YA that was just so so if you are maybe 15 or 16, I want to emphasize that this is a completely satisfying book for any adult. I also realize that this book is about human nature not just Zombies. Is it about zombies? Sure. But it's really about the good and bad side of human nature. This is the common theme throughout the entire story. Consistently the situations that these young people are put in offers an opportunity for the adults to teach the kids the lessons of life and offer bits of wisdom. But it's done in such a way that I actually enjoy and feel like I'm learning those bits of wisdom as well! Need advice on love? Why someone can be courageous on moment and a coward the next? Why dea... mored zombies aren't really the problem but people and human nature can be more of a problem than flesh eating zombies! It's in here. I think that this is the deeper layer of substance makes this book a star (or 2) above the rest. I don't remember how many stars I gave the first book (4 I think) I realize that I might have under rated it. This book is soooo well written. It's just a very well written book. I look forward to the final book!
review 2: Amazing! After Charlie and The Hammer died I thought it would be a no stop trip to the jet (well they would have to stop for zoms and to sleep and such) but before they even get that far from mountain side they come to another obstacle. They just can't catch a break. You start to get doubts about really killing Charlie but then you realize what really is going on here. I love how when you come back they are ready to leave and they are trained and ready to go. It seems so realistic (as a zombie book can get anyway) with all the situations they get themselves into. It really is amazing how they take such simple things and make it useful. It just has so many situations of how things might go wrong... and in their case it does. less
