review 1: Avril Lavigne did not learn to speak french until 2013. Not all Canadians speak french, even when born to a french Canadian parent. My husband was born to a German father and does not speak german. Putting that superfluous and WRONG detail about a celebrity (and the constant listing of celebrities during the third act was off putting and broke the fourth wall entirely) just pulled me right out of the mediocre book.
review 2: Another great Ledger book. But it's not just Joe Ledger that makes the series so good, it's also his cast of teammates and back ups. Top and Bunny are so perfect and add so much to the books and even Church adds an extra edge. And when the author says things about a team going dark on a mission I get all squealy ( yes I am a nerd ). The boo... moreks are fascinating and very well written and what adds the perfect touch is the authors sarcastic humor even in the darkest moments. I hope Joe is around for a long time. less
