review 1: This book is an absolutely fabulous book to talk about sharing. In this book, the Elephant, Gerald, gets ice-cream and before eating it, realizes that his friend Piggy might want some as well. In the process of thinking about it, the ice-cream melts and there is not any ice-cream to share, Gerald is upset he doesn't have any ice cream at all now. In the end, Piggy arrives with ice-cream and both Gerald and Piggy share. It would be an excellent book to read for teaching friendship skills, and to practice sharing in the classroom. I would use this book as a reference to talking about classroom rules and reminding the children of the appropriate ways to act in the classroom.
review 2: Genre: fantasyCopyright: 2011This story is about an elephant who is thinking whe
... morether to share his ice cream with his best friend Piggie. Since the elephant spends a lot of time on hesitating, his ice cream melts. When he feels so sad about the melted ice cream, Piggie walked to him and shared ice cream with him without any hesitation. This is a great book to teach children about sharing since the whole story is tied to "sharing". Children could realize that sharing is not that difficult. When people simply share without hesitation, happiness could be created. less
