review 1: Big Wolf and little wolf by Nadine Cosme and Oliver Tallec tells the story of two wolves who united and became friends in a unique way and developed a bond that they sustained. Their friendship started when little wolf took a trip up the hill everyday to see Big Wolf. At first, Big Wolf treated little wolf mean because he wasn’t use to having someone invading his space. However, once little wolf disappeared for a few day, Big Wolf became sad. Once little wolf returned, they embraced and never departed from each other again. This book delivers a positive message to young readers— to treat everyone with respect and to share with their friends and not take them for granted. This book would most likely be a comfortable read for a moderate reader being that the text of each... more page is relatively lengthy. In addition, the illustrations displayed help tell the story, which can help guide a reader through the story. This book is good for readers to have access to due to the fact that it has several important themes and a moral to the story—all pertaining to the idea of sharing and friendship. This book is important for teachers to know about because it can help a teacher show students how to share and respect one another as the two wolves in the story did.
review 2: Age: Preschool +Animals: WolvesFamily: Siblings--although not identified as brothersA free verse tale from France about two wolves, one big and one little. When Little Wolf walks up to Big Wolf's tree, Big Wolf is curious and hesitant but certainly not hostile. Little Wolf proceeds to follow Big Wolf around. Big Wolf is annoyed but begins to admire the courage of Little Wolf. One day Big Wolf leaves his tree for a walk and Little Wolf does not follow. Happy to be away from this new creature, Big Wolf continues happily on his walk. Upon his return, Little Wolf is no longer under the tree. For the first time in his life, Big Wolf is lonely and nervously waits for Little Wolf's return.I appreciated how easy this book was to read-aloud. Perhaps I was in the mood to read-aloud, but it was very easy to add emotional intonation to the story. I wonder if the author translated it herself.A well-written story about the importance of human contact and the influence of a newcomer on a person's (wolf's) life. less

This is a very sweet story but my 3 year old didn't ask for it very often.
