review 1: This story is lots of fun to read and ends the Enola Holmes series very nicely. The only problem I had with it was that the mystery ended too fast and I'm still not quite sure how she knew out of all of the clothes shops in town that the one closest to her lodgings is responsible. The story is well written and was a lot of fun to read. The planning that had to go into this is amazing and Nancy Springer's writing continues to amaze me. I would recommend this book to anyone.
review 2: Ok, parts of this were very silly. Namely, corsets. Very silly corsets. Could not find any historical or contemporary evidence for silliness of heavy-handed corsetry. Also, brow beating feminist themes that caused eye-rolling. Not due to feminism, but due to brow-beating. I mean
... more, we don't like misogyny, but misandry and/or REPETITION is obnoxious as well and rather undermines the message. However, other parts were quite touching. I think the conclusion could have been built more gradually across the six books which would have improved believability. You know, character arcs and all that. All in all a satisfying and fun conclusion, with enough good to outweigh the annoyances. However, not sure I'll pick up Springer's other books. We'll see. less

A great addition to the Holmes canon. This is hopefully not the last book in this series.
