review 1: kept me reading, but was predictable. None of the characters really caught my heart. Historical references were interesting. my least favorite part of book was the non-profit stop agitation between the characters and within themselves. when reading of dysfunctional family dynamics , which truly enjoy, I like a bit of a break with humor, engaging dialog or 1st person narratives providing insight to the story from the characters themselves. I just really did not "like " any of these characters.

First and last book by this author. I've read some crap in my time but this plumbed new depths.

Predictable, but the 1968 setting was interesting for me since I remember it well.

Enjoyed the history, the glimpses of the late 1960s.
