review 1: Rosemary and Rue had some really great writing and I very much enjoyed the language. Unfortunately, this book just wasn't going anywhere and I put it down 50% of the way through due to pure boredom. I NEVER don't finish a book. I have to give it the benefit of the doubt. I made it as far as I did and I was appalled that I was only half way through and was forced to give up. It was too painful.
review 2: As a child I enjoyed Disney's sanitized version of Faery Tales. As a grown up I LOVE the dark ones! I was introduced to them with "Modern Faery Tales by Holly Black." Totally recommend them! So, back to ROSEMARY AND RUE. Is a story about faeries and changelings but basically a thriller. It's a murder investigation. It goes further though, It is broader, i... moret's about belonging, friendship, love, loss, betrayal and of course intrigue and faery politics. Although not a work of art, it is a nice, entertaining and interesting book. less
