review 1: Anne Perry is one of my favorite mystery writers and the William Monk series is my favorite. This is the most recent one and I certainly hope there will be more. What will happen to Rathbone? There has to be more. She has such a good understanding of this period in English history and, as English history is a passion of mine, it is no wonder I love her writing. I have to admit that I guessed some of the outcome before the end but it didn't spoil the book for me.
