review 1: Exciting well written mystery thriller that was a real page turner. Yes, some parts were predictable but that didn't spoil my enjoyment. My wobbles came over Marnie's actions to deal with her husband's debt. I tried to work out if I'd resort to that and the answer is no, I'd have found another way. It seemed a little out of character for her and she accepted the situation too easily for me, but it's a minor niggle in a good story.
review 2: Ahh, much better. Robotham is still a creepy writer, but that's part of his charm. The last book was just TOO gross, and I couldn't deal. But this is back to what Robotham does best, which is write about bad people looking over someone else's shoulder (and then doing horrible things to them or the people they care about)
... morewhile psychologist Joe O'Loughlin tries to use his people powers to get inside their brain. It's always a fun cat and mouse game, and even though I spoiled myself for who was watching over put-upon main character Marnie Logan pretty early in the book (and DUDE, that reveal was pretty wild), I still enjoyed the story. Love Joe, love Vincent, and enjoyed the twist at the end of the book. You brought me back in, Robotham! less
