review 1: Dead Scared is the second book in SJ Bolton's Lacey Flint series. Lacey is recruited by a colleague to go undercover at Cambridge University to pose as a college student to explore why there have been so many suicides recently. Although Lacey is there is really just play a role, she soon begins to investigate some of the suicides, which unfortunately takes her back to her troubled past (which was never really explained in this book). Dead Scared was very creepy and dark. I really liked Lacey, but it was frustrating to watch her fumble her relationships. I will be going back and reading the first book in the series, which hopefully has more background on the main characters... "Now You See Me"
review 2: I am in love with this series! I find the writing to be si
... moremilar to Mo Hayder and I love Mo Hayder. I am not usually too interested in damsel in distress plots, however, something about these books appeals to my desire to keep reading. Maybe it is the whole messing with people's minds. I don't know and honestly I don't care. All that matters to me is that I read a good book and cannot wait to read the next one. less

This was worth staying up late to finish. A bit formulaic, but satisfying.

I actually liked this one better than her first Now You See Me.
