review 1: Really enjoyed this Icelandic mystery. Shows how tough it is for a female police officer. How she has to balance work and family and how it doesn't always work. I liked how she tried not to be nosy about her children's lives but was almost forced to. She pulled experiences from her personal life to help her solve the mystery such as certain smells she associated with. The story led you in several different directions and I was glad the bad guy got killed in the beginning and can understand how the person who killed him came to do it.
review 2: After listening to another of this author's books, I was interested in this one, which I also listened to in audiobook form. It is an intriguing murder mystery on a rather sordid subject, date rape. The subject mat... moreter is handled tastefully, but there is one explicit scene (how explicit I'm not sure since I bailed out and skipped to the next track) near the end of the book. The solution is believable. The book ends on an enigmatic note regarding a secondary unsolved mystery. less
