review 1: I received this book for free through Goodreads First Reads. Ilona Andrews is a masterful author(s). I have never loved a book that was a "road trip." I could feel a bit of struggle in this book, although the characters were struggling too. There were a lot of superbly written fight scenes (which I love) and it seemed like a lot more romance than usual. I really liked this book and loved the way it came together in the end.
review 2: This has to be one of the most perfect series out there! I admit I did have to cheat and skim ahead a little because at one point the angst got to be too much for me. But Kate is probably my favorite female character hands down. There was some sadness and of course a badass fighting scene (well several actually). And Curran is... more perfection...although him and Kate really got to work on those communication skills. Loved it! less
