review 1: I felt as though this short story was quite well-written, Brennan's descriptions seem to continually get better. Her depiction of Kami after the words with Jared really allowed you realize, even without being in Kami's head, how destroyed she was. Overall, the story gave you further insight into Ash as a character, giving him more of a sympathetic aspect. We also learned more of the interactions between Ash, Jared and Lillian (Ash's mother), which is not as easy to come by since we usually follow around Kami. I think it adds to the series, which is what any short story should do.
review 2: 4 Stars I started reading this series two days ago. And I have already read everything but Untold, the third novel coming out sometime in 2014. 2014... WTF!!! O
... morekay, okay, uhhhh(deep calming breath). It is a sad but true fact I have read: The Spring Before I Met You (The Lynburn Legacy, #0.25) The Summer Before I Met You (The Lynburn Legacy, #0.5) Unspoken (The Lynburn Legacy, #1) The Night After I Lost You (The Lynburn Legacy, #1.5) Untold (The Lynburn Legacy, #2)And now I have to wait until SOMETIME in 2014. Not only is the very beginning of 2014 over two months away but 2014 itself is 12 months long. Cruel, heartless, unfair and unforgivable!!! Rant over. *** Slight spoilers ahead *** "The Night After I Lost You" tells what happened at Aurimere manor house the night Rob Lynburn made Kami sever the bond she shared with Jared. Told from Ash's POV, it is a glimpse into the head of a lonely, scared and lost 17 yr old who has only ever wanted to have the love and approval of his parents. Ash has always seemed younger then Jared. While Jared is painted in dark, vibrant colors, Ash is water colored pastels. Ash is often over shadowed by cousin. This short story won't make much sense unless you have read "Unspoken"And while not necessary it does let you have a quick peak unto Ash head. Great short story but like most of the other stories in this series, it is depressing. Enjoy. less
