review 1: Amazing. I would highly recommend anyone and everyone to read this book specifically for the essay "Staying Awake While We Read." The story by which the book is titled is haunting and engrossing. I had to finish it in one siting. The poetry is beautiful and powerful. Finally, the interview at the end had me laughing out-loud at Ursula Le Guin's wit, humor, and snappy retorts. I wish I could give this book more than five stars.
review 2: This collection contains one fictional short story (novella? novelette? whatever) a few short poems, and a few essays by Ursula K Le Guin and an interview of her. It's a little light, content-wise and I finished it in very little time but enjoyed it. I find her opinions worth reading. The interview in particular is amu
... moresing. Le Guin is willful, not answering questions that annoy her and refusing to be pinned down. Fans of her work would enjoy this collection, I think, but I would not at all recommend it as an entry point to those unfamiliar with her work. less

I only read the story "The Wild Girls". I'm not sure why it won.
